About India EFT Council
The India EFT Council is owned and managed by [Founder Name Placeholder]. The council is recognized as a training and professional development initiative for Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) in India. Our mission is aligned with the global EFT community and the principles developed by Dr. Sue Johnson, founder of ICEEFT — the International Centre for Excellence in Emotionally Focused Therapy.
Our purpose is to strengthen the knowledge, awareness and use of Emotionally Focused Therapy across India. We aim to build a strong and supportive network of EFT practitioners, counsellors, psychologists, and mental health professionals who want to specialize in attachment-based therapy.
We offer professional resources in the form of:

- Networking opportunities for professionals
In addition, we want to make it easier for couples and individuals to find trained EFT therapists in India, as well as provide information about Hold Me Tight® programs, EFT training events, and therapist listings.

Why the council exists.
Our purpose is to strengthen the knowledge, awareness and use of Emotionally Focused Therapy across India, and to build a strong, supportive network of EFT practitioners, counsellors, psychologists and mental health professionals who want to specialise in attachment-based therapy.
Until now, therapists in India wanting to train in EFT have had to look abroad. Being affiliated to ICEEFT means the curriculum, the standards and the certification route here are the same ones recognised worldwide, taught closer to home and in a context that understands the realities of practising in India.

ICEEFT is the International Centre for Excellence in Emotionally Focused Therapy, founded by Dr. Sue Johnson. It sets the curriculum, the training standards and the certification criteria for EFT worldwide.
Affiliation is not a badge. It means our trainings follow the ICEEFT curriculum, our trainers are authorised and accredited, and a therapist certifying through us holds the same credential as one certifying anywhere else in the world.
The people behind the council.
The council is founded and led by three therapists working in EFT in India.
Acting Head of India EFT Council. Through Matters of Relationship, she offers clinical supervision and EFT-based therapy for individuals, couples and families, holding a Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy from Purdue University.
A trauma-informed therapist with over 13 years in private practice, working with individuals and couples through Emotionally Focused Therapy and EMDR to build safer, more secure emotional connections.
Co-founder of Inner Planet. An internationally certified REBT supervisor and EFT practitioner, she works with individuals and couples on attachment patterns, anxiety and trauma.
